About the Firm
History -

Now in its present form as Scholefield, P.C., the law firm opened its doors in 1998 as a solo practice of Pamela J. Scholefield. At that time she concentrated on serving the needs of companies in the electrical industry.

A little about Pam Scholefield's background reveals quite a bit. She has an engineering degree from the University of Florida(and a Professional Engineer license in Colorado), right after graduating, she went to work for General Electric where she was ultimately introduced to the world of power distribution. After working at GE factories that manufactured power distribution equipment, she became an area product manager based out of San Diego, serving distributors that carried the GE product lines. During law school, Pam was hired by one of her former distributors to be a power distribution product specialist and ever since, she has been actively involved in some aspect of power distribution.

Since then, the firm has gained experience in other areas of law, but Ms. Scholefield always came back to the area of law where she excelled and enjoyed the most, construction law and the issues faced by those in the construction industry. Ms. Scholefield personally supervises all of the construction client matters handled by any associates and co-counsel attorneys.

Our Emphasis is involvement in the Construction Community

Scholefield is actively involved in construction trade groups such as AGC, NECA, ACI, and most recently NAED. And, has always maintained the policy to give back to its members with seminar and training opportunities.

Scholefield has been a National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) member www.necasandiego.org for many years, and is active in the organizition by providing seminars, classes to IBEW apprentices and advice to the membership.

Scholefield is also a member of American Concrete Institute ACI www.aci-sandiego.org.

While not directly connected to the electrical industry, ACI membership helps keep a pulse on the industry.

Other members of the firm are active in mentoring programs such as ACE (Architecture, construction, engineering) for high school students. Scholefield provides a mentor to meet with the students twice a month to foster an interest in some aspect of construction, engineering or architecture.

Rather than join many trade group and then do nothing, Scholefield believes it is more beneficial to everyone to limit membership to a few key groups and then to become an active participant.

Publications

Ms. Scholefield regularly writes informative articles on construction law topics, many of which can be found on this website. All of the these articles have been published in trade publications such as Contractor News & Views, San Diego Daily Transcript, Professional Engineer, and distributed to members of the construction community. image
